Karmelo Anthony has at least two strong grounds for appeal
Karmelo Anthony's two strong grounds for appeal are 1) it appears the judge, DA, and Austin Metcalf's dad may have known each other socially, and 2) there were no black jurors. And Karmelo Anthony is black.
The first issue is unclear, and this picture supposedly of the judge, the DA, and Austin Metcalf's dad may or may not be real. It hasn't been definitively proven either way. This does not change the strong possibility, however, that all three knew each other socially. The "appearance of impropriety" alone creates an appealable issue. If I were the defense, I would hire the best PI imaginable to dig up all possible information (proof) pointing to a friendly relationship or any relationship at all that shows the three (or even two of them knew each other).
The second issue may be the more viable because we know there were no black jurors, and the DA struck all the black jurors. That's a major issue, and there is the strong possibility this may win Karmelo Anthony a new trial. I hope it does.
